In addition to formal college training, Roger Julian Sweetingham had the opportunity to work on the cream of fine English 17th century furniture at John Keil Ltd. Knightsbridge, London, one of London's most prominent and prestigious antique furniture dealers. After several years of self employment in Bath, England specializing in restoration to 18th century clock cases he moved to Chicago and was employed as a specialist finisher by Caledonian Inc., a long established fine antique English furniture retail and restoration business in the north suburbs.
After moving to Los Angeles, California in 1984, Roger then began his employment with Antique Services. Drawing from his many years of practical experience in furniture restoration, he was able to take on the responsibility of estimating and customer relations. Over the following six years Roger learned the many facets of the business from Vernon and Joan Glasspool the original English owners that started Antique Services back in 1975. In 1990 he officially took over Antique Services Inc. and has successfully run the business ever since.
